1. Who We Are
Livwellwise.com (“the site,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a publication operated by Curlew Cove, LLC. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
Data controller: Curlew Cove, LLC
Location: Texas, United States
Contact: hello@livwellwise.com
By using this site, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. What Information We Collect
Comments. When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (a “hash”) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture (if any) is visible to the public alongside your comment.
Contact Form. When you contact us, we collect your name, email address, and message so we can respond to you. We do not sell or share this information.
Newsletter. If you subscribe, we collect your name and email address and store them with our email service provider, AWeber, to send you essays, updates, and resources. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — pages viewed, time on site, and general location. This data is aggregated and generally not linked to your identity. You can manage or opt out of Google Analytics via your browser settings or the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Cookies. We use cookies and similar technologies to make the site work and to understand how it’s used. See Section 4 for details.
3. Affiliate Disclosure
Some links on this site are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a small commission if you make a purchase through them — at no extra cost to you. This helps support Curlew Cove, LLC.
We only recommend tools and resources we believe in. When you click an affiliate link, the merchant or affiliate network (such as Clickbank) may set a cookie to track the referral. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies.
You are never obligated to click or buy through our links.
4. Cookies
Cookies & Consent. When you first visit the site, a cookie banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential ones, or customize your choices. Strictly necessary cookies (needed for the site to work) are always active. Analytics and affiliate cookies are only set after you consent. You can change your choices at any time via the banner link in the footer, or by adjusting your browser settings.
Comments. If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you don’t have to re-enter your details. These cookies last one year.
Login. If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we also set cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days; screen options cookies last one year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks. If you log out, the login cookies are removed.
Editing. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. It contains no personal data and simply records the post ID of the article you edited. It expires after one day.
Analytics (Google Analytics). Google Analytics sets cookies to help us understand site usage. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or manage cookies through your browser settings.
Affiliate cookies. Our affiliate networks may set cookies when you click an affiliate link, so they can credit a referral. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how parts of the site function.
5. Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (for example, videos, images, or articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website. Those websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content — including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
6. Who We Share Your Data With
We share limited data with the service providers that operate this site and its features, including:
- our web host
- our email service provider, AWeber
- our analytics provider, Google Analytics
- our spam-detection service
- affiliate networks (when you click an affiliate link)
These providers process data only as needed to deliver their service. We do not sell your personal data.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of the site or others.
7. How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely, so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on the site (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Site administrators can also see and edit that information.
Newsletter data is retained with AWeber until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
8. What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments or subscribed, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
To make a request, email hello@livwellwise.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.
If you are in the EU/UK (GDPR): You have additional rights, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Our lawful bases for processing are consent (newsletter, cookies), legitimate interest (analytics, security), and legal obligation. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. To exercise your rights, contact hello@livwellwise.com.
10. Children’s Privacy
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Where Your Data Is Sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam-detection service. Some of our service providers (including Google Analytics and AWeber) may store or process data on servers located outside your state or country. By using the site, you consent to this transfer and processing.
12. Governing Law
This policy and your use of the site are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the revised policy.
